Each year the Mint Hill Farmer's Market in NC has a Herb and Flower Festival where locals sell their wares. This lady caught my attention. She was the picture of industry, a much prized quality in the building of community.
This painting won a Juror's commendation award at the Mint Hill Arts June show. Larry Elder said, "Often times during the judging of art shows it becomes difficult for the juror to make the final selections based upon the awards which are available. Mint Hill Farmer’s Market . . . was done very well. The face of the figure was painted beautifully and I enjoyed the way the artist captured the feel of the marketplace. "
