After the winter wet and weary

It's spring in Chongqing! The sun finally found its way through the winter wet rain and fog here on Nan Shan.   I felt the thrill of plein air again.   The pleasure of putting paint to canvas under the open sky has made me feel like a bear coming out of his den. I'm hungry for natural beauty.

The first challenge was finding an unpeopled spot to work quietly. This is a city of 34 million and on a sunny day, thousands seem to be out trying to enjoy the sun, too. I found a little nook behind one of the CQUPT classroom buildings  that stands at the base of a mountain side. I was amazed to actually get a two hours of almost complete solitude.

I'm thankful for a day of paint and pleasure.
